There’s a saying I learned from coaching athletics that really sums up the way I do business. Clients, like players, “don’t care what you know until they know that you care.” That’s why I make sure my recommendations include explanations of coverages, limits, and endorsements; it makes sure people know that I won’t recommend coverage I wouldn’t be happy to write for myself. After almost a decade succeeding with this approach, I consider myself more “asset protector” than “Insurance agent.” When I’m not helping people get covered, like to be out at sporting events or tracking down the best BBQ in Texas.
